Owner Haul Away of the Suncoast

Jeremy is a retired Deputy Sheriff, who started Haul Away of the Suncoast in 2006. At the time, the company concentrated on dumpster services, junk removal, and site cleanup.

In 2017 upon Jeremy’s retirement, the company added demolition services to its portfolio. Since then, Haul Away has been providing professional, and affordable demolition and removal services.

In 2017 Haul Away of the Suncoast added Wayne to its operations. A US Army veteran and retired Deputy Sheriff, Wayne was hired to operate the heavy equipment and to assist in demolition operations. Wayne also has IT management training and handles website and social media updates.

Definitions


Contactor

Contractor means the person who is qualified for, and shall only be responsible for, the project contracted for and means, except as exempted in this part, the person who, for compensation, undertakes to, submits a bid to, or does himself or herself or by others construct, repair, alter, remodel, add to, demolish, subtract from, or improve any building or structure, including related improvements to real estate, for others or for resale to others; and whose job scope is substantially similar to the job scope described in one of the subsequent paragraphs of this subsection. For the purposes of regulation under this part, “demolish” applies only to demolition of steel tanks over 50 feet in height; towers over 50 feet in height; other structures over 50 feet in height, other than buildings or residences over three stories tall; and buildings or residences over three stories tall.

Commercial demolition is the tearing down of buildings and other man-made structures, that include but are not limited to offices, manufacturing plants, medical centers, and retail shopping centers.

Demolition

Demolition is the dismantling, razing, destroying, or wrecking of any building or structure or any part thereof. Demolition is the process of removing and disassembling structures using a safe and controlled method of destruction. This is done by using machinery and work by hand. The act of demolition not only includes dismantling structures, it can also involve concrete removal, internal strip outs, vegetation/tree removal, pool removal and compaction.

Emergency excavations or demolitions

Excavation or demolition during an emergency if the system or the member operator was notified at the earliest opportunity and all reasonable precautions had been taken to protect any underground facility. For the purposes of this act, “emergency” means any condition constituting a clear and present danger to life or property; a situation caused by the escape of any substance transported by means of an underground facility; any interruption of vital public service or communication caused by any break or defect in a member operator’s underground facility; or, in the case of the State Highway System or streets or roads maintained by a political subdivision or underground facilities owned, operated, or maintained by a political subdivision, if the use of such highways, streets, roads, or underground facilities is, in the sole judgment of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the Department of Transportation, or such political subdivision, impaired by an unforeseen occurrence that necessitates repair beginning immediately after such occurrence.

Interior Demolition

Interior demolition: the nonstructural demolishing of spaces within a structure, usually in preparation for reuse or upgrading the space or area. This includes interior walls, ceilings, flooring, staircases, mezzanines, overhangs, etc., as well as the utilities contained within.

Mobile Home

Mobile home means a vehicular structure without independent motive power, built on a chassis or frame, which is, designed to be used with or without a permanent foundation, capable of being drawn by a motor vehicle, and may be or not be used for year-round occupancy. The term does not include recreational vehicle.

Mobile Home Demolition

Mobile Home dwelling structure built on a steel chassis and fitted with wheels that is intended to be hauled to a usually permanent site involves disassembling and removing structures using a safe and controlled method of destruction.

Motor Home

A large motor vehicle equipped as living quarters.

Recreational Vehicle

Recreation Vehicle means a vehicle which is primarily designed to provide temporary living quarters for recreational, camping, or seasonal use and which Is built on a single chassis mounted on wheels, has a gross trailer area not exceeding 400 square feet in the set-up mode, and Is certified by the manufacturer as complying with Standard No. A119.5 of the American National Standards Institute.

Recreational Vehicle Demolition / Removal

The dismantling, razing, destroying, or wrecking of any Recreational Vehicle.

Residential Demolition

The total tearing down or destruction of a building containing one or more residential units. Demolition is the dismantling, razing, destroying, or wrecking of any building or structure or any part thereof.

“Residential housing” means one or more new or existing residential dwelling units located or to be located in the state, including any buildings, land, improvements, equipment, facilities, or other real or personal properties which are necessary in connection therewith, including, but not limited to, related facilities for streets, sewers, and utilities.

Scrap Metal Handling

Scrap metal is the combination of waste metal, metallic material and any product that contains metal that is capable of being recycled from previous consumption or product manufacturing.

Selective Demolition

Also referred to interior demolition, selective demolition uses carefully planned sequenced activities that separate and sort the materials within a building.

Trailer

A nonmotorized vehicle designed to be pulled behind a motor vehicle, especially a furnished vehicle drawn by a truck or automobile and used when parked as a dwelling or office.

The dismantling, razing, destroying, or wrecking of any non-motorized vehicle designed to be pulled behind a motor vehicle, especially a furnished vehicle drawn by a truck or automobile and used when parked as a dwelling or office.
